As the sponsor of the BAVARIAN BIBLE MUSEUM, the Bavarian Bible Centre has set out clear guidelines for our collection concept. We will therefore expand our collection with:
- Objects for our exhibition at the BAVARIAN BIBLE MUSEUM.
- Objects related to the Bavarian Bible Centre.
- Objects to build up our collection of Biblical games (both analogue and digital)
In contrast to other Bible Societies, the Bavarian Bible Centre’s collection is still very young. The reason for this is that the Bible Centre’s base in Nuremberg was completely destroyed by bombs on 2 January 1945. Before that date, the Bible Centre’s collection had contained many treasures, including rare Bible translations and the manuscripts of Justus Jonas from 1550. All were lost forever in the bombing.
